Moving home

If you would like to move home then we are on hand to advise you, though it is important to note that applications for social housing are managed by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, not THCH.

There is extremely high demand in the local area, so requests are managed in accordance with the Housing Register Priority Bands and not all requests are able to be met, or there can be long waiting times for your application to be progressed.

To submit an application you will need to register on the LBTH’s Housing Register page, which you can find here.

Mutual Exchanges

All THCH tenants have the right to carry out a mutual exchange (swapping their home with another tenant) as long as the exchange is into an appropriately sized property according to the age and size of their household. You can find out more at Home Swapper.

Housing Moves is the Mayor of London’s mobility scheme and can help you if you want to move to a different part of London.

If you are aged 60 or over and want to move out of London you can also use this site to register for the Seaside & Country Homes scheme. More information about the Seaside and Country Homes scheme is available on the Mayor of London's website.
